The Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) of Irvine, California, provides cost effective and responsive service through technical support, protection and maintenance of water quality, and evaluation of emerging treatment and analytical technologies to improve operational effectiveness. As part of these efforts, IRWD's has developed a Recycled and Nonpotable Water Quality System Master Plan. This paper discusses the various elements of the Master Plan which include: defining IRWD's water quality objectives; summarizing regulatory and user requirements; summarizing IRWD's water quality monitoring program; identifying water quality concerns for existing and future water supplies; and identifying water quality concerns for existing and future storage and distribution facilities.
