This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the University of Connecticut and its water supply problem. UConn/Storr's Problem Statement: the Fenton River, one of the Two main sources of water for the University, has been experiencing low flow (in the Fall). The State of Massachusetts decided that the problem was mostly UConn's fault. Therefore the Governor mandated that UConn do the following: turn over the operation of their water system to an outside company - Connecticut Water was selected; hire an outside company to develop a 20 year plan - Milone and McBroom was selected; and, hire a water consultant to evaluate and rank all potential opportunities for saving water - Water Management was selected. UConn's restorative and protective measures are presented. The scope of work included: water use analysis of the Storrs and Depot campuses and surrounding areas; identify feasible water conservation measures; analyze potential water savings and cost effectiveness of water conservation measures; and, rank conservation options. Includes tables, figures.
