Integrated Resource Planning or IRP is viewed as a process to tie all ofthe individual elements of water resources planning together. The major differences betweenconventional water resource planning and IRP include giving equal consideration to demandmanagement and new supply development, consideration of risk and reliability with shortagemanagement as an option, extensive public participation in the process.
