This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the 2007 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Interconnection Study/Mitigation of Water Supply Emergencies that had the following goals: optimize current diversions and transfers toavert and mitigate drought related wateremergencies;mitigate the effects during water supplyemergencies due to catastrophic loss; and,optimize current water diversions under normaloperation. The scope of the Interconnection Study is presented, along with study tasks that include: physical infrastructure and capacity evaluation;hydraulic model;optimizing existing water diversions duringdrought conditions;catastrophic infrastructure failure; and,optimizing diversions during normalconditions. Financial considerations are presented.
