This paper is a progress report covering work at BIOKEN, laboratories and plants, and at facilities of other evaluators. BIOKEN cartridges were evaluated on several feed sources--municipal water, surface water, and seawater. The effects of molecular weight cutoff and process conditions on performance were studied. Cleaning studies were also conducted for each membrane type and water source.
