The study investigates ultrafiltration of particles suspension with bentonite suspension, which is known for giving a correct picture of surface water components. This study proposed a predictive model elaborated in a kind of formulation which could be applied to particles fouling, without interaction with membrane material, in the case of total retention. For the treatment of raw river water for example, the relative importance of others kind of fouling have to be taken into account. However, this model could be simply used, because very few experiments are necessary to determine its parameters. Then for each case of operating conditions in a reasonable range, transient permeation flux can be forecast, as well as steady state flux.
