This study was developed to answer the following four critical questions regarding the use of ozone: what is the optimal ozone application point for disinfection and bromate control; can bromate be controlled when ozonating to inactivate Giardia and Cryptosporidium; are pH depression, ammonia addition, or other control strategies required to control bromate; and, how will ozone be integrated into the plants and what will the improvements cost? Water quality goals were developed to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of the ozone alternatives. These goals represent the anticipated range for regulated constituents and parameters, or specific requirements set by the utility. Includes 6 references, tables, figures, appendix.
