Even though some mechanistic pathways have been proposed in the literaturefor the direct photolysis of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), no thorough product study, and/or organic carbon and nitrogen balances have been reported. This paper introduces a product and kinetic study undertaken on the degradation of NDMA in dilute aqueous solution by both ultraviolet (UV) direct photolysis and the UV/peroxide processes. Includes 3 references.
