This paper summarizes the results of a 6-month pilot-scale evaluation of microfiltration/ultrafiltration, ozone, and granular activated carbon (GAC) for arsenic, taste and odor (T&O) control, and precursor removal for the City of Scottsdale's future Salt River Project (SRP) water treatment plant. Membrane filtration with in-line ferric sulfate coagulation followed by GAC contacting achieved the water quality and operational goals of the City. Ozone oxidation was not deemed necessary for the full-scale design. Includes 2 references, tables, figures.
