Two ESI/LC/MS methods coupled with SPE technology are described in this paper for the analysis of emerging endocrine disrupting chemicals in water. The method reporting limits were 0.5 ng/L for estrogens/hormones, 0.5 ug/L for detergent degradation products (nonylphenol and octylphenol), and 0.1 ug/L for several other phenolic endocrine disrupting chemicals. Two other detergent degradation products, nonylphenol diethoxylate at 1 ug/L and nonylphenol monoethoxylate at 10 ug/L, could also be semi-quantitated. The mean recoveries were in a range of 70-130% with a relative standard deviation of less than 20%. Includes 16 references, tables.
