The matrices evaluated included: reference matrix (phosphate buffered saline); and, wastewater matrices (disinfected effluent, and secondary effluent). Initial study issues included: eleven of the twelve laboratories reported abnormal growthpatterns on the modified mTEC plates; and, growth restricted to membrane gridlines.
