  • Elucidating the Interaction between NOM and PAC and its Impact on Adsorption of Trace Contaminants
  • Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 11/15/2004
  • Publisher: AWWA

$12.00$24.00

The objective of this study is to elucidate the effect of natural organic matter (NOM) on the adsorption of traceorganic compounds by powdered activated carbon (PAC). In particular, the effect of NOM molecular size on themechanisms and extent of competition is examined. The anionic dyes Congo red andmethyl orange are used as surrogates for NOM, and the herbicide atrazine as the targettrace contaminant. Includes 11 references, figures.
