This slide presentation outlines information on a pilot study that evaluated nitrification control strategies at Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA). The objectives of the study included: identify a robust nitrification controlstrategy so that MVWA can implementchloramines if it chooses; evaluate several nitrification controlapproaches on the pilot scale usingfinished water from Hinckley WTP;demonstrate to the State thatnitrification can be controlled/preventedin the MVWA system; and,provide recommendations onintegrating the most suitable nitrificationstrategy into chloramines systemdesign.
