This slide presentation outlines a study with the objectives of: evaluating the potential of naturally present and addedchemicals as fluencemeters;focusing on germicidal fluences (~ 100 - 2000 J m-2);testing both low- and medium-pressure Hg lamps; and, examining the effect of water qualitye.g., pH, TOC. Experimental procedures included:low- and medium pressure Hg lamps for Fe3+and BA/H2O2, medium pressure for NO3-;collimated beam experiments, radiometricfluence determination;shallow solution depth (< 1 cm);NO2- and Fe2+ analyzed by colorimetry; and,Hydroxy-BA analyzed by reversed phase HPLC. Includes figures.
