This slide presentation outlines a study with the objectives of: evaluating the potential of naturally present and addedchemicals as fluencemeters;focusing on germicidal fluences (~ 100 - 2000 J m^-2);testing both low- and medium-pressure Hg lamps; and,examining the effect of water qualitye.g., pH, TOC. Experimental procedures included:low- and medium pressure Hg lamps for Fe³⁺and BA/H₂O₂, medium pressure for NO₃-;collimated beam experiments, radiometricfluence determination;shallow solution depth (< 1 cm);NO₂- and Fe²⁺ analyzed by colorimetry; and,Hydroxy-BA analyzed by reversed phase HPLC.
