The objectives of this slide presentation were to: develop deterministic nitrification modelsthat simulate bulk water quality in thepilot-scale distribution systems; and,use sensitivity analysis to evaluateprocesses affecting water quality in thepilot-scale systems. The presentation outlines steps for creating various models that include: simple chemical model; nitrification model; modified nitrification model; and, calibration and verification models. The presentation also outlines verification results of a modified nitrification model that include occurrence and non-occurrence of nitrification episodes. Model applications, parametric sensitivity, sensitivity analysis, nitrite sensitivity, and simulated nitrification onset delay are all outlined in the presentation. Includes figures.
