This slide presentation outlines a study on the impact of pH during flocculation on downstream membrane performance. Topics covered include: Membrane Applications Background;Impact of Particle Size on Membrane Fouling;Micro-flow Imaging Experimental Set-up;Membrane Experimental Set-up;Micro-flow Imaging Results; and,Membrane Fouling Rate Results. Results included: particle size distributions became steady after 10-15 minutes of operation for all pH values;the final particle concentration in the smallest sizerange was the lowest for the lowest pH run;membrane fouling rate was the highest for thelowest pH run; and,the shortest HRT resulted in the highest foulingrate. Includes figures.
