This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Drinking Water Laboratory Response Preparedness Projectand Regional Laboratory Response Plan (RLRP). The purpose of the plan is to: improve laboratory preparedness within each of the 10 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)regions for response to actual or suspected drinking watercontamination incidents;establish effective approaches for multi-laboratorycoordination in response to these incidents; and,establish the foundation for the Water Laboratory Alliance(WLA). The four-phase process of the Regional LaboratoryResponse Plan includes: a response plan template;meetings in each region to refine/customizeplan template to meet the needs and challenges of labs ineach region; table top exercises in each region to practice what thelaboratories have agreed to in their customized plan; and,functional exercises to practice what the laboratorieshave agreed to in their customized plan. Plan characteristics are presented, along with plan fundamentals, Scope of Support Considered byLaboratories, similarities and differences among the RLRPs, and the Water Laboratory Alliance (WLA).
