Toaddress some of the questions and concerns about biological treatment processes, AwwaRF and the Department of Defense Environmental Security Technology Certification Program(ESTCP) sponsored a survey research effort that targeted the collection of information and insightsfrom personnel of water utilities, Department of Defense or DoD contractor industry, regulatoryagencies, consulting firms, equipment vendors, and academic/professional/research institutions.CDM conducted a web-based survey seeking respondent input in identifying the baseline watertreatment technology use and in establishing technology acceptance and priorities for researchand regulatory initiatives. The survey examined the extent and manner in which various treatmentprocesses are used, and was divided into sections on:general information;technology acceptance;technology or regulatory attributes; and, case study information. This paper presents the preliminary results for technology acceptance with a focus on utilityindustry perspectives. Includes tables, figures.
