This Water Research Foundation effort surveyed over 400stakeholders including utilities, regulators,engineers/consultants, vendors, and academics.It sought to identify and characterize acceptance, use, andbarriers to expanded implementation of full-scalebiological drinking water treatment. Specific applicationsand attributes of these processes were queried via an onlinesurvey and selected case studies. Case studies weredeveloped both in the on-line survey and duringtelephone interviews. Information was solicited on contaminants, design, monitoring, operations, andeffects of water quality and environmental conditions on performance. Includes figures.
