This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of disinfection and disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in drinking water, chloramination and DBPs, brominated DBPs, toxicity, and theoretical isotopic abundances. The experimental method is presented, along with ion clusters detected by UPLC-ESI-MS/MS, effect of contact time on the formation of polar Br-DBPsin chloramination, comparison of polar brominated DBPs in chlorination, chloramination, and chlorination-chloramination. Presentation conclusions indicate that: many polar brominated DBPs were generated inchloramination; some of them are nitrogenousbrominated DBPs; the polar brominated DBPsincreased as contact time increased; more polar brominated DBPs in chloraminationwere generated at lower pH; and, chloramination produced more high molecularweight polar brominated DBPs than chlorination.
