BICSI 001-2009

Education in schools is rapidly changing as new technology and teaching methodologies are embraced by teachers, instructors and school administrators. BICSI 001 is the first standard available that is solely written for the design of ICT systems used within the educational environments of K-12 (primary and secondary) schools and facilities. Providing information that cuts across multidisciplinary design efforts, this standard provides direction allowing for savings in building constructions and renovation, as well as the planning of future growth and changes.

In addition, given the specialized needs of the end users - the students themselves - BICSI 001 goes beyond comparable design standards, by providing guidance in the selection and implementation of materials, such as types of cabling, to provide a safe environment for all.
