This document is a guide developed for the measurementof high-power light emitting diodes (LEDs),normally in a form of LED packages, used for lightingproducts. High-power LEDs are those that requirea heat sink for their normal operation. The lightoutput of an LED depends strongly on its thermalconditions, in particular, the junction temperaturesTj. Junction temperature, however, is difficult to measure.Various different methods have been used tooperate LEDs for photometric measurements andthe results could not be compared. This documentprovides uniform test methods for operation of highpowerLEDs and test methods for photometric andcolorimetric measurement of high-power LEDs.
