$16.00$32.00

This Recommended Practice covers the classification, labeling, and informational requirements for all electrically powered sources of optical radiation that emit in the 200 nm to 3000 nm (3.0 ¿m) range except for lasers and for light emitting diodes (LEDs) used in optical fiber communication systems. This Practice includes a flow chart that defines the process for identifying General Lighting Source (GLS) lamps. These lamps light those spaces typically occupied or viewed by people (e.g., offices, schools, homes, factories, roadways, or automobiles). In this Practice, lamps are categorized according to the degree of the hazard associated with them in either an Exempt Group or one of three Risk Groups. Control measures and safety performance engineering requirements become more important and more stringent with increasing risk category.
