1. SCOPE
1.1 General This Standard Practice covers ratings,dimensions, tolerances, finish, marking and materialrequirements for socket welding reducer inserts foruse with ASME B16.11, Class 3000 and 6000socket welding fittings. Dimensions for thesereducer inserts are shown in Table 3.
1.1.1 Fitting Sizes/Pipe Correlation Fittingscovered by this Standard Practice are shown inTable 1, by class, size range and correlation to theschedule number or wall designation of pipe forcalculation of ratings.
1.1.2 Partial Compliance Fittings Fittings withspecial dimensions and fittings made from nonstandardmaterials may be designed andmanufactured by agreement between themanufacturer and the purchaser, provided they aremarked in accordance with the requirements forpartial compliance fittings of Section 5.1.1 (e).
1.2 Service Conditions Criteria for selection offitting type and materials suitable for particularfluid service are not within the scope of thisStandard Practice.
