1. SCOPE
1.1 This Standard Practice provides methodsand acceptance standards for liquid penetrantexamination of steel castings and forgings forvalves, flanges, fittings and other pipingcomponents. It is applicable to examination ofrepairs as well as to initial examination ofcastings and forgings.
1.2 The methods of Section 4 provide uniformprocedures which will produce satisfactory andconsistent results upon which the AcceptanceStandards of Table 1 may be used.1.3 This Standard Practice includes theexamination of pressure containing castings andforgings.
