This specification has been declared NONCURRENT by the Aerospace Materials Division, SAE, as of June, 2006. It is recommended, therefore, that this specification not be specified for new designs. These castings have been used typically for parts requiring freedom from microporsity combined with a high level of mechanical properties, but usage is not limited to such applications.
