SCTE 79-2 2002

This document defines the Network Management requirements to support a Data-Over-Cable System (DOCS)2.0 environment. More specifically, the specification details the SNMPv3 protocol and how it coexists withSNMP v1/v2. The RFCs and Management Information Base (MIB) requirements are detailed as well as interfacenumbering, filtering, event notifications, etc. Basic network-management principles such as account,configuration, fault, and performance management are incorporated in this specification for better understandingof managing a high-speed cable modem environment.
