When presented with ongoing burr and finish problems, manufacturers have relied on old-fashioned, time-consuming methods that include wire wheels, labor intensive hand work, tumblers and vibratory bowls. These traditional methods are not only inconsistent, but costly in terms of man hours, and high rework and scrap factors. When all is said and done, the finished product often still needs additional deburring and surface refinement, which, if not recognized, will result in reduced efficiency and failed products. Products should never be accepted in a condition less than perfect.
