MAKING HOLES USING THE ELECTRO DISCHARGE DRILLING PROCESS IS QUITE COMMON. THIS PAPER REPORTS THE EFFECTS OF ONTIME, DIAMETER OF TOOL, AND DEPTH OF PENETRATION ON THE TECHNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS. THE EXPERIMENTS WERE PLANNED ACCORDING TO THE DESIGN OF EXPERIMENTS PROCEDURE. HIGH SPEED STEEL AND COPPER WERE USED AS WORKPIECE AND TOOL MATERIALS RESPECTIVELY. THE RESPONSES, I.E. MATERIAL REMOVAL RATE, RELATIVE ELECTRODE WEAR, OVERCUT AT THE TOP OF A DRILLED HOLE, TAPER ANGLE, AND SURFACE ROUGHNESS DURING EXPERIMENTATION HAVE BEEN MEASURED AND/OR CALCULATED. USING THESE RESPONSES, MATHEMATICAL MODELS HAVE BEEN EVOLVED TO STUDY THE EFFECTS OF CONTROLLABLE VARIABLES ON THE ABOVE-MENTIONED RESPONSES.
