A GENERAL METHODOLOGY IS INTRODUCED FOR THE UNCERTAINTY ANALYSIS OF CMM MEASUREMENTS. REFERENCE TABLES ARE PROVIDED THAT LINK VARIOUS SOURCES OF UNCERTAINTY TO THEIR CORRESPONDING EFFECT ON SPECIFIC MEASURED CHARACTERISTICS. SOME EXAMPLES OF ACTUAL APPLICATIONS OF THE METHODOLOGY ARE DISCUSSED.
