THIS PAPER COMPARES RECIPROCATING TO CREEP FEED SUPERABRASIVE MACHINING OF A TITANIUM ALLOY IN TERMS OF THE DEPENDENT VARIABLES RESIDUAL STRESS, MICROSTRUCTURE, SPECIFIC ENERGY, AND POWER FLUX. A FRACTIONAL FACTORIAL DESIGN OF EXPERIMENT WAS USED. FOUR INDEPENDENT VARIABLES WERE VARIED IN TWO LEVELS EACH. RESULTS SHOW THAT THE RECIPROCATING MODE PRODUCES HIGHER COMPRESSIVE STRESSES AND THE CREEP FEED REGIME PRODUCES BETTER MICROSTRUCTURE, USES LESS SPECIFIC ENERGY, AND DEVELOPS A LOWER POWER FLUX.
