AN INTELLIGENT SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED FOR CONTROL OF CYLINDRICAL PLUNGE GRINDING OPERATIONS. AT THE END OF EACH CYCLE, THE UNCERTAIN PROCESS PARAMETERS ARE ESTIMATED TO UPDATE THE MODEL AND PROVIDE A MORE ACCURATE ESTIMATION OF THE OPTIMAL OPERATING PARAMETERS FOR THE NEXT CYCLE. THE INTELLIGENT SYSTEM IS EXPERIMENTALLY DEMONSTRATED FOR INTERNAL CYLINDRICAL GRINDING.
