SUPERABRASIVE GRINDING WHEELS ARE USUALLY DULL AFTER A TRUING OPERATION AND REQUIRE A BREAK-IN PERIOD BEFORE THEY CAN PRODUCE PARTS IN A CONSISTENT WAY. IN THIS STUDY, ROTARY TRUING AND DRESSING WERE INVESTIGATED FOR VITRIFIED CBN MIXED WITH SEEDED GEL TO DETERMINE OPTIMUM PARAMETERS REQUIRED TO ELIMINATE OR REDUCE THIS INITIAL BREAK-IN PERIOD AND TO GRIND AT A STEADY-STATE RATE AFTER TRUING. A VERY PRECISE METHOD OF MEASURING WHEEL VOLUMETRIC WEAR AND WHEEL GEOMETRIC DETERIORATION WAS DEVELOPED AND USED.
