THIS PAPER IS CONCERNED WITH AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY TO ESTABLISH MONITORING OF PROCESS OUTPUTS IN AN INTERNAL GRINDING PROCESS. SIGNALS COLLECTED FROM VARIOUS SENSORS ARE RELATED TO THE PROCESS CONDITIONS PERTAINING TO PART QUALITY WHICH ARE MEASURED AFTER OPERATION. EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP AND DESIGN ARE DESCRIBED ALONG WITH VARIOUS SIGNATURES OF SENSOR SIGNALS. IMPORTANT FEATURES OF SENSOR SIGNALS THAT REFLECT CHANGES IN PROCESS CONDITIONS ARE IDENTIFIED THROUGH THE STATISTICAL REGRESSION ANALYSIS USING THE DATA FROM ACOUSTIC, POWER ACCELERATION AND SPINDLE DEFLECTION SENSORS.
