A WORKING GANTRY ROBOT WITHIN A SEALED PROCESSING GLOVE BOX AND A TELEROBOT CONTROL TEST BED ARE MANIFESTATIONS OF THIS EFFORT. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES THE DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES AND PROGRESS IN ADAPTING PROCESSING, ROBOTIC, AND NUCLEAR SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES TO THE APPLICATION.
