A LASER/CCD 3D SENSOR SYSTEM USED FOR CNC MILLING APPLICATIONS, WAS APPLIED TO THE INSPECTION AND TESTING OF TWISTED DUCTS IN HELICAL-CONTRIFUGAL PUMPS. THE SENSOR WAS MODIFIED AND INCORPORATED IN A BORESCOPE CONFIGURATION IN ORDER TO INSPECT AND TEST THE INTERNAL SURFACES. THE MODIFIED SENSOR WHICH HAS 5 DEGREES OF FREEDOM COLLECTED 100,000 DATA POINTS/MINUTE WITH A BASE ACCURACY OF 0.2% ON THE RELATIVE POSITION OF A GIVEN POINT. ELECTRONIC FILTERING IMPROVED THE ACCURACY TO 0.05% OF THE SENSOR FIELD OF VISION.
