The ninth edition of this standard has been developed by the Closed Feedwater Heater Section of the Heat Exchange Institute, Inc. Some of the new material incorporated into the ninth edition of this standard include:

• new information in Section 2.1, Heater Performance,
• revisions to Section 2.7, tube Side Pressure Loss,
• new information in Section 3, Mechanical Design Standards, and
• new materials added to Section 4, Material Design Standards.
