CAN/ULC-S525:2016 is a binational standard fully harmonized with the 10th edition ANSI/UL 464, Audible Signal Appliances, that can be used for Canada and the United States.
This Standard covers requirements for audible signaling devices, such as electrically operated bells, sirens, and horns, rated at 300 V or less, for oridnary (non-hazardous or non-corrosive) indoor/outdoor installations in accordance with the following:
a) In Canada: CAN/ULC-S524, Standard for Installation of Fire Alarm Systems; CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I; and
b) In the United States: NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code
This Standard covers requirements for audible signaling devices, such as electrically operated bells, sirens, and horns, rated at 300 V or less, for oridnary (non-hazardous or non-corrosive) indoor/outdoor installations in accordance with the following:
