This is a method for determining sulfur concentrations ranging from 1 ppm to greater than 500 ppm in hydrocarbons, including aromatics and olefins. The method is applicable to styrene. The higher concentrations of sulfur are handled through appropriate dilution of the samples. Although there are no limitations as to the state of chemical combination of the sulfur, the material analyzed must be a liquid or gas; or, a solid that will dissolve in a suitable combustible solvent.
